It will amaze you at the end of your shift as to how greatly your happy customers appreciate you, because your money will begin to increase and you will definitely notice the difference within just a matter of time. It is really hard on a person when they think they have it all figured out, as far as what their job requirements would be with a job, then once they begin, they realize they really had no idea what all their job would actually require of them, it can really be a let down when that happens. Bartending does require some knowledge because everyone doesn't drink the same beverage and bartenders interactions with the public may depend on the type of establishments.
A good bartender can make a lot of money from tips. You may have whiskey to Swedish punch arranged from left to right according to the decrease in alcohol content of the different liquors. If they feel like you are likeable and have a positive attitude they will think that their customers will like you and spend more money.
Remember. the customer always comes first., and have fun. It takes character and personality just to name a few other qualifications it takes to be a good bartender.
