I have been in the restaurant and bar business for a long time, and have seen my share of mistakes. A bartender who is fast, efficient, outgoing, able to up sell and suggest higher priced options and keep customers entertained will make for a very successful bar operation.
Bartending can be very challenging at times, after all, you are dealing with crowds of strangers that are drinking alcohol. It is so important that you really understand all of this before you choose to get a job as a bartender, so that you do not end up stressed out, exhausted and possibly even unhappy with your job. It will not all be fun and games, every good thing has a few bad things to go along with it at times. Bartenders are also responsible for keeping everything behind the bar neat and orderly.
Bartenders should be taught to properly stock and replenish the bar supplies throughout the shift, including ice, liquor, and all mixing supplies. Negus is a drink with a punch like combination of wine, sweetened, but heated with spices. Some drinks are heated to add a special touch.
The demand for bartenders is always high. If you seem more like a friend then like an applicant you will get the job.
