Dating back thousands of years, bartending began as a trade by those that produced liquor and in turn sold it to the public. Some people choose to become a bartender in hopes of making a career out of it while others simply to do to make them some extra cash for themselves.
When you are a Bartender, the hours can be long but the rewards are endless. You must be organized, knowing where things are and having access to them at a given notice. Of course, drink making is of the top priority.
An experienced bartender can help you calculate how much and what alcohol you'll need to stock your bar. It is not always easy to maintain a smiling, cheerful attitude. It's practically impossible to take anything you see or read at face value.
