A Bartender is the person everyone wants to tell their problems too. A tap person used to working in pub style establishments may not know cocktails. Some states like Texas, allow the serving of alcohol to be done at age 18.
When preparing your bartending resume, get out a piece of paper and write out all the skills that he had learned and mastered at previous jobs that could relate to bartending. You should always know the names and preferences of your regulars. Interviews for bartending jobs are very different then interviews for traditional jobs.
Once you become a bartender you will be absolutely amazed at how often you make the same drinks. The list can go on an on as there are hundreds of things any bartender should know.
